Canberra - Australia's stylish national capital. With pockets of bushland reserve extending almost to the city centre, and over half its land classified as national park or nature reserve, the centre of Australia's political and economic life is often called 'the bush capital'.

Canberra has an international reputation for some of Australia's finest architecture. Open in 1988, one of Canberra's most striking buildings is our National Parliament. Situated on a stunning site on Capital Hill overlooking Lake Burley Griffin, it is easily recognisable by its towering flagpole. The interior design features timbers from all Australian States and Territories providing a dramatic setting for a showcase of numerous examples of Australian art and craft.

The Canberra Organising Committee has secured the Great Hall at Parliament House for the Conference Multi-Faith Service and Welcome Reception. Join your colleagues from around the country as you gather together in the magnificent Great Hall to share in a service of praise and thanksgiving.

Following the service, enjoy fine food and wines in these unique surroundings. Students from several Canberra schools will perform during the service and provide entertainment throughout the Welcome Reception. Prior to the commencement of the service delegates may take advantage of the
opportunity to view some of the gallery areas in Parliament House.

NB: Due to strict security guidelines at this venue, all delegates must register for the conference prior to attending and wear their name tags at all times. It is strongly suggested that Conference satchels are not brought to this event to facilitate a quick security check process.
